    Board terms for the Madison Knitters’ Guild are limited to three years; this year we are seeking four new members. Please consider a term on the Board or as a committee chair; the guild needs your talent and enthusiasm.

    Join us for our January meeting in welcoming podcasters, Deborah and Melanie, the Savvy Girls—two sisters who take a playful and thoughtful look at knitting, travel and life. Luckily they’re from Canada, so our Wisconsin weather shouldn’t faze them.

    Read the status of our projects: Second Harvest, River Food Pantry, January Donations, and the monthly project pattern!

  • New Procedure for Viewing Handmade Items

    Because of our concerns for the safety of all, and the unfortunate loss of Cheryl Oberle's sweater at a meeting last fall, we have instituted some changes regarding viewing speaker samples. We know that the opportunity to handle the speakers’ knitted objects is one of the big benefits of membership in the guild.

  • New Selections for the MKG Library!

    There are many new things to look for this year in the library. Keep your eyes open for more Interweave Knits magazine collections 2005-2010.

  • Neighborhood Knits

    The first three mini classes to be open for registration filled very quickly, and we know some were disappointed not to find a seat. Three more classes are scheduled for April and May.

  • Parking Reminder

    Please leave the few NON-disabled parking spots that are next to the disabled parking spots in front of the Bishop O’Connor Center for our members who may not have a disabled permit but find it difficult to navigate the snow-covered parking lot from further away. If you are able to drop off your riders at the end of the sidewalk, just a few feet to the left of the entrance, that will also free up space for our vendors to unload. Thank you for your cooperation!

  • Display Your Guild Pride
    'cling
    You can now proudly display that you are guild member by displaying an MKG window cling! These purple "MKG Member" window clings can be put on glass and other hard surfaces. Clings are $2.00 each and a limited quantity will be available at the January meeting.

  • UFO Retreat

    There’s still time to gather up your unfinished objects and head to the Chalet Landlaus. This fun event is open to guild members and friends and no reservations are required. The large meeting room is set up with banquet tables and the coffee will be on Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. No costs for MKG members, and non-members are just $5 at the door. Optional: bring a snack or treat to share. Hotel reservations at the special MKG rate: (608) 527-5234
